Unregulated Psychoactive Cannabis product
On August 1, 2024, Governor Parson announced executive order 24-10, prohibiting foods containing psychoactive cannabis products from being manufactured, sold or delivered in the state of Missouri, unless originating from an "approved source." This goes into effect beginning September 1, 2024.
These products are not regulated and sold without restriction, in a way that is typically eye-catching to increase public consumption. Cosumption on cannabis products results in intoxication, which effect the body, mind, and driving ability.
This is in response to the increase of adolescents accidentally consumming these products, thinking they were candy or other regular food products. These instances have increased emergency room visits and posion control calls in Missouri and nationally.
