The Linn County Health Department offers nurse consultant services to area childcare providers. Childcare providers include daycare centers, Head Start, licensed and non-licensed homes. These services include training for clock hours and other educational services on nutrition, health, and safety related issues. The nurse consultant also offers age-appropriate health promotional programs to children in the childcare setting.
This program is made possible through funding from the Child Care Development Fund and Title V federal block grant. It is a collaboration between DESE’s Office of Childhood and Local Health Agencies throughout Missouri.
The program was developed to promote safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environments for all children in childcare. Services are available at no cost for childcare providers, families of children enrolled in childcare and children enrolled in childcare.
